Bar Enza, Cambridge

When I first stepped into Bar Enza, my first thought was…. this is the perfect spot was made for date night.

The dimly lit restaurant has cozy corners, comfortable seating, and a nice long bar. The restaurant was quiet and yet social at the same time. For starters, do not skip on the Ciabatta Sticks and the dip… Mascarpone, olio nuevo, sorrento lemon, lava salt. I highly suggest you try the chilled shrimp cocktail. We were told to chop up the shrimp and to make sure to get the lettuce in each bite, this made this dish more than just your average shrimp cocktail. On to the mains – of course, we had to try the famous 100 layer lasagna. We each ordered our own dish, but this dish is definitely large enough to share. The lasagna is made with egg-yolk pasta which makes for a very light dish. Essentially, you can eat as much as you want (kind of) you don’t feel weighed down after eating it. Do not skip on adding the ragu alla bolognese.

I cannot wait to go back and have this dish again. So, while we were enjoying our lasagna, we realized that each of us were eating it differently. This  raised the question, how do you eat your hundred layer lasagna. I was eating it layer by layer but surprisingly, everyone had their own way.

We ordered few more main dishes, be sure to try the roasted chicken dish! The eggplant parmigiana rollatini was also a winner.

Last but not least we ordered the delicious flourless chocolate cake, because I make sure to never skip out on dessert and to always save a little room for something sweet after dinner.
